Car hire at Almeria Airport is available for all travelers arriving from dozens of top European destinations to IATA – one of the international gateways located in Andalusia and Southern Spain. To find the rental desks, pass by the baggage claim area and head to the Arrivals Hall. The car hire counters work there on a daily schedule:
- Goldcar-InterRent. Opening hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Europcar. Rental office works from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- Hertz. The desk is at drivers’ disposal from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm on Mondays- Fridays, and from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Almeria Airport car rental parking lots are just opposite the airport main building. To pick up a vehicle, leave the Arrivals Hall, turn left, and follow the yellow “Car Rental” sign which is near the exit doors.
As for the off-site companies, Enterprise provides free shuttles to its office. Avis also transfers renters to the company’s counter (shared with Budget) without additional payments. Drivers of the shuttle buses usually wait for passengers outside the Arrivals area. You will see the city bus stop just opposite the airport entrance door. Leave the main terminal and turn right, then intersect the zebra crossing and turn right once more.

If you have hired a car at the Almeria Airport and want to drop it off, drive back to LEI keeping on the AL-12 road, and then change the route to N-347 which leads to the airport. To park your hired vehicle, follow the “Rent a car” sign on the road and take a left turn, then drive to the parking gate arm.
Enterprise and Avis car rental branches are located in the La Bolera district, near MacDonald’s Estadio and Power Horse Stadium. Renters can drop off their cars at the companies’ offices and take the M-202 bus, which runs to the IATA.
After-hours drop-off is allowed at Hertz, Europcar, Avis, and Budget. Goldcar renters are allowed to drop off cars outside of the regular opening times (from 9:00 pm to 11:59 pm) without paying extra.
